Get to know Panama Square Resident Vanessa Williams from Hamilton Central. Their purpose is to advocate, support and promote the CBD on behalf of the businesses based here.
Vanessa answers a couple of questions for us:
How long have you been in business/ worked for this company?
Four years.
How many people in your team?
Two. Just me (Vanessa) and Vicki.
How did you end up doing what you’re doing?
I have worked in marketing and management for a diverse range of businesses both nationally and internationally and great timing saw this job come up on my return from overseas.
How long have you been a Panama resident?
Since July 2020.
Favourite co-working perk?
Lots of people to meet and a great space!
What is your favourite kind or work/ project?
I love working on different events and really enjoy putting on the CBD Awards each year.
Favourite place to holiday?
Waihi Beach.
What was your first job?
Working in a video shop at Chartwell Square.
If you had to change industry, what job would you choose?
Publishing.

What do you love most about Hamilton?
I love Hamilton – it is such an easy place to live. There is always something to do, find, buy and enjoy!
Where do you go for Saturday brunch?
So many fantastic cafes in the CBD I can’t pick one!
Do you have any hidden talents?
According to my children making up stories complete with separate character voices.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Morning person.
